Bulldog Run - May 9th 2010

I think for me this was the best ever rideout from Bognor.  It was Tina's brainchild, to collect much-needed supplies for Dizzy and Tania's bulldog rescue, the only one in Great Britain.  I counted 76 scooters on Bognor seafront, which totally exceeded all our expectations.   We then headed off to Midhurst, (with excellent ad-hoc marshalling!) to Dizzy and Tania's bungalow in a sleepy lane that was suddenly awash with the smell of 2-stroke and scooters parked all over the grass verges.  In the garden there were urns full of hot water providing a nice cup of tea to warm us up on a chilly day.  A few of the dogs were then let out and enjoyed lots of attention - the rescue can house up to 15 bulldogs at one time and is supported by foster homes all over the country.  The food, washing powder and nappy sacks had piled up and thanks to an amazing load from the A5s will keep them going for months and months!   Nearly 100 scooters had converged, and after a nice sociable chat we headed to the pub.   The Royal Oak weren't quite prepared for the onslaught of 100+ thirsty scooterists, but eventually served us all, and it was a great venue with large garden and our music blaring out.   If it could have just been a couple of degrees warmer it would have been perfect!

So, a great inaugural event, and hopefully will be repeated next year. Thanks to all the clubs and individuals that supported us, your help is very much appreciated.
