This website is an online photo album of my scootering life since 2000 when I first bought a digital camera.   I was emailing my friends some of the photos I took at rallies and it seemed easier at the time to simply publish them on the web so that anyone could see them.   I'm not a web developer, so it's not a particularly flashy site, but it does the job!

I got my first blue vespa at the age of 16.   It was a 50 Special and was originally white, but I had it sprayed the kind of standard mid blue that I'd seen on scooters on holidays to Spain.    Then, when I turned 17 and could buy something more powerful, I got a navy blue Primavera.   It was great, and I should never have sold it when I passed my test soon afterwards.   I then had a brief period in the 'dark side' when I bought a black Serveta.   It was an awful machine, forever breaking down, and I learnt my lesson quickly.   Having seen the light, I bought a brand new PX200E, in navy blue.   This served me well from 1984 until the early 90's, doing many rallies including all of them in 1985 (Dunbar is a long way from the south coast, especially two-up with tons of luggage!).  As I wasn't very good at maintaining my scooters, the P range got a bit worse for wear and I sold it.   I then bought a blue 100 Sport from my sister, which I had until the mid 90's when it was stolen.....

That was, I thought, the end of my scootering life.   Until, in 1999, I discovered the Hipshaker nights in Portsmouth.   I started going regularly and got friendly with a few people from Southsea, including Dave Clarke, one of the Hipshaker DJs.   They were doing a set at the Isle Of Wight rally that year and I took Dave's scooter over - having not ridden one for around five years.  I got the bug again and bought another brand new P range, my fifth blue vespa, and started doing the rallies again on it.   I took it, along with my digital camera, to the Isle Of Wight rally in 2000, and the results can be seen via the menu to the left of this screen.   There are also photos of many do's, rideouts and custom shows that I've attended in the last five years.

So, that's it!  I'm a much-maligned 'born-again scooterist'.   But I don't care.   The number of people that have got back into the scene is brilliant and I'm having the best time ever.   I've also met tons of new friends from around the country and am now an active member of the Midhurst Detours Scooter Club, something I'm very proud of.
